Senator Barack Obama and his sidekick are planning to generously spread our wealth around. But that's easy when it's OPM (other people's money). In reality, these men who want to extract more from your paycheck are two of the stingiest men around. The Obama's give about 5% of their annual salary to charity (keep in mind one is a US Senator and the other is a hospital CEO). While Joe Biden, the man who believes it's your patriotic duty to dig deep, gives a paltry $369 a year!
Both fall far short of the millions of Americans who, like myself, willingly and freely without compulsion give 10% of their annual gross salary to charity along with other means of giving. We do it as a matter of principle. And frankly, we think we're far better at determining who our wealth should be spread to than you fatcats on Capitol Hill. After all, it was the government who invented the $400 hammer. Then again, I could be wrong. They might be as successful at handling money as they were with Social Security. Oh wait, that's right.
During his acceptance speech, Obama quoted the Biblical verse "I am my brother's keeper". This was meant to shame you who are against his policies of using the IRS to extract your wealth and give it to others who haven't worked as hard for it as you. But Obama has a twisted idea of "charity". If he is his brother's keeper, then why is his half brother living in a 6 x 10 hut in Kenya on less than $1 a month? Why is his aunt living in a Boston slum while he sleeps in a million dollar mansion? Hey Barack, charity begins at home.
The difference between how Obama sees charity and how most Americans see charity, is that to most Americans charity is a voluntary act. It is self-directed as our hearts are moved. Obama would use the force of government to compel your giving making us all dependent upon him and people like him to meet our needs.
Since today is Halloween, here's an appropriate image. You're a kid going Trick or Treating through the neighborhood. Some kids just were too lazy to go and stayed home. Some only went for a couple of blocks. But you're the industrious type. You walked faster, went farther, put forth more effort. You went through the whole neighborhood knowing that that big bag of candy at the end was worth the extra sweat and toil. In fact, you enlisted several others to help you cover more ground and you'll share the take at the end. You even plan on giving 10% of it away to other kids. But then you come to the last house. It's Barack Obama's million dollar mansion. He opens the door and instead of putting something in your sack. He reaches in and takes out a third of it. When you protest, he smiles a patronizing smile and says, "But you have too much. I'm just wanting to spread this around to those coming behind you. Those who only went two blocks. Those who didn't leave their homes at all." When Halloween rolls around next year, you'll probably think twice about putting in much extra effort won't you?
I'll spread my own wealth around Senator, thank you very much. And if you keep your hands off our employers, more of us will have jobs to make wealth to spread around. We'll spread it when we shop, when we need a service, when we give. But we'll use our money where we want and when we want. We can do it much better than you.
You can start by spreading your own wealth to take care of your family.

Long ago, one of the last free thinkers in America (Eric Hoffer) wrote: "There is always a chance that he who sets himself up as his brother's keeper will end up by being his jail-keeper".
He has a point. I don't need more trouble than I have currently. And I certainly don't want 250 million jail-keepers walking around America.
Great quote, Rip. What you're really getting at is the issue of dependency.
Obama is confusing the notion Christian charity, which is indeed turned toward one's brother/neighbor, with governmental obligation. The Biblical injunction is to individual hearts, not to states. And the motivation comes from inspiration, not compulsion.
Be free.
